It’s the most WONDERFUL time of the year!
Putting together the set for this year’s Santa Experience really got my creative juices flowing, and I love how all of the pieces came together so wonderfully to create pure holiday magic!
Neutral tones and gorgeous natural light provide an amazing backdrop for your Christmas photos, as they elegantly compliment the deep red velvet and gold accents on Santa’s suit. The flocked Christmas trees and wooden mantle are simply but beautifully decorated, and a vintage riding horse adds a bit of nostalgia from Christmases past.
For the children’s clothing, I chose a simple, beige cable knit cardigan(https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B39DC13J?psc) for Chase, and a classic dress(https://www.etsy.com/listing/1086799601/sage-dress-pdf-digital-sewing-pattern?click_key) that I sewed in a festive plaid(https://www.hawthornesupplyco.com/santa-baby-fabric-collection-by-indy-bloom/large-gingham-in-present/FE1A705AD9BE/) for Amelia; her white knee socks and brown boots are the perfect finish to this sweet vintage look!

This sweet girl is coming in for her first birthday session next month, and I am so excited!! I had the best time photographing her sitter session, and I know her birthday session will be just PRECIOUS…seeing her dig into that cake is going to be so fabulous!
Evie Jo has the MOST adorable chunky cheeks, a beautiful smile that absolutely lights up her eyes, and just the right amount of spunky sass! I’ve been photographing little Evie since she was in her mama’s belly, and it has been such a joy and an honor watching her thrive.
One of my favorite aspects of being a photographer is that I get to build long lasting relationships with my families and follow along with you as your little ones flourish and grow! Babies change so much (and so quickly!) in their first year of life, and it is my greatest privelege to document your most cherished memories and milestones!

What is my absolute favorite part of having a photography studio??
MY WINDOWS!
When I first began my professional photography journey in Jacksonville, I had no idea just how lucky I was….and the reason is: not all light is created equal. Not only are the windows in my studio about 8 feet tall, but they are also north facing, which means that we get the prettiest light when we are creating your most precious memories.
This image of baby Keira and her mama is one of my favorite poses, and the reason that I love it so much is because it incorporates those beautiful windows, and bathes mama and baby in the most radiant natural light. The windows also provide the perfect backdrop for creating dramatic black and white silhouettes.

Sound familiar? If you have children, you’ve probably heard this information somewhere along the way: newborns don’t genuinely smile, and those adorable little smirks are actually just muscle reflexes or gas pains.
BUT, I’ve been photographing newborns for over five years now and there always seems to be a trend during my sessions…newborn babies often smile when they’re being held by their parents or siblings. I don’t always notice it at the time, but later, when I’m sitting at my computer editing and I look closer, there it is: a sweet sleepy grin.
So, I personally like to think that babies hear those familiar voices, they’re comforted by their family’s loving arms, and the result is that heartwarming little smile.When baby Blair smiled up at her mommy and daddy during her newborn session, my heart literally melted and I was again reminded about how grateful I am to be able to capture memories like this for so many families! Babies grow and change quickly, so being able to freeze precious little moments like this is absolutely priceless and I know Blair’s family will cherish this beautiful image for many years to come.

“rainbow baby:”
a healthy baby born after losing a baby due to miscarriage, infant loss, stillbirth, or neonatal death; the term comes from the idea of a rainbow appearing in the sky after a storm, or after a dark, turbulent time
I truly believe that all babies are special; my college background is in biology (I originally wanted to be a veterinarian when I was younger), so I know that from a scientific viewpoint, as well as that of a mother, they are nothing short of little miracles. But, rainbow babies will always hold a special place in my heart.

Fresh 48 photography is all about documenting the first few days of your baby’s life in the hospital…
…baby swaddled in a hospital blanket, sleeping peacefully in the bassinet…tiny wrinkly feet encircled in hospital bracelets…the stump of an umbilical cord, lovingly cut just the day before…and siblings getting to meet their little baby brother or sister for the first time. These are all moments that truly make my heart sing, and being able to freeze those fleeting memories in time is one of my greatest joys.
